Caring for Your Amis Pearl Jewellery

At Amis Pearl, each piece is selected and crafted to highlight the natural beauty of pearls and gemstones. Pearls are organic gemstones and require a little extra care to preserve their natural lustre and beauty.

With the right care, your Amis Pearl jewellery can be enjoyed for many years.

Pearl Care

Pearls are naturally delicate. To help maintain their lustre:

Put your pearl jewellery on after applying perfume, hairspray, makeup, moisturiser or other cosmetics.
Avoid direct contact with perfumes, chemicals, alcohol, hairspray and cleaning products.
Remove pearl jewellery before showering, swimming, exercising or using a spa or sauna.
Avoid wearing pearl jewellery while sleeping.
Pearls can be scratched by harder gemstones, so store them separately from other jewellery.
After wearing, gently wipe your pearls with a soft, clean and slightly damp cloth to remove oils and residue.
Do not use jewellery polishing cloths, ultrasonic cleaners, steam cleaners or abrasive cleaning products on pearls.

Storing Your Pearls

Store your pearl jewellery in its original Amis Pearl jewellery box or a soft jewellery pouch.

Pearls should be kept separately from other jewellery to prevent scratches and damage.

Avoid storing pearls in very dry or excessively humid conditions, and keep them away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

Sterling Silver Care

Sterling silver naturally develops tarnish over time due to exposure to air, moisture, skin oils and chemicals.

To maintain your sterling silver jewellery:

Keep it dry when not wearing it.
Remove jewellery before swimming, showering or exercising.
Avoid contact with perfumes, lotions, chemicals and household cleaning products.
Gently clean plain sterling silver using a suitable soft silver polishing cloth.
For jewellery containing pearls, gemstones or special finishes, do not use silver polishing products directly on the stones.

Gold Jewellery Care

Our gold jewellery should also be protected from chemicals, harsh cleaning products and unnecessary impact.

For 18K gold jewellery:

Remove jewellery before swimming, showering and exercising.
Avoid contact with perfume, hairspray, lotions and household chemicals.
Clean gently with a soft, lint-free cloth.
Store each piece separately to avoid scratches.

Gemstone Jewellery Care

Natural gemstones may vary in colour, clarity and appearance. These natural characteristics are part of what makes each piece unique.

To care for gemstone jewellery:

Avoid sudden temperature changes.
Protect gemstones from strong impact or pressure.
Keep away from chemicals, perfumes and cleaning products.
Clean gently with a soft, damp cloth.
Do not use ultrasonic or steam cleaners unless you have confirmed that the particular gemstone is suitable for this type of cleaning.

Plated Jewellery

Some of our jewellery pieces feature a plated finish over the base sterling silver. Plating is a surface treatment and, with regular wear, can naturally become thinner or change over time.

To help preserve the finish:

Avoid water and chemicals.
Remove jewellery before showering, swimming and exercising.
Avoid perfume and cosmetic products coming into direct contact with the jewellery.
Store pieces separately when not being worn.
Do not use abrasive polishing cloths or jewellery cleaners on plated surfaces.

Jewellery and accessories purchased from Amispearl online store come with one year warranty from the date of purchase. This covers manufacturing faults and defects. It does not cover accidental breakage and general wear and tear, such as scratched, tarnished or faded jewellery.
